providing support and guidance to clients and their families for over 20 years
Jason Kniola, NCC,LMHC, LCAC
My path to counseling began while at Purdue University in West Lafayette, after growing up in Michigan City. I was fortunate to meet a kind and wise therapist while earning my Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, and he started me on my path not only to being a counselor, but to introspection on my own healing and growth.
My mental health career has encompassed many roles and served a variety of clients. Clients have ranged from children to adolescents, adults, couples, families, and the elderly and their caregivers. I have assisted clients through births, deaths, new relationships, strengthening relationships, and navigating through the end of relationships. I have lead addictions groups and worked with individual clients as they bravely face the substances that have interfered in their lives. I have developed programs for corporate wellness, advising clients as their careers grow and evolve. During the 20+ years of my career I have also studied meditation and mindfulness, and use these techniques to lead workshops and help clients learn skills to stay present while working through life’s challenges.
It is my intention to create safe spaces and encouraging clients to express themselves, problem-solve, develop healthy coping and communication skills, and move into deeper relationship with themselves and others. Each day I continue to learn from my own explorations and the experiences and explorations of others. The ability to share my experiences and what I learn with others as they travel on their path has made for a rewarding and enriching career, and I look forward to continuing to guide and witness others as they work towards becoming their fullest selves.
